Lane College proudly celebrates alumnae Dr. Porshé Minor and Dr. Raven Minor, whose journey from the classrooms of Lane to co-owners of thriving chiropractic clinics in Kennesaw and Atlanta, Georgia, reflects the power of an HBCU foundation rooted in scholarship, service, and purpose.

For both graduates, Lane College was transformational far beyond the classroom.

Dr. Porshé Minor credits Lane’s academic rigor and culture of accountability with sharpening her discipline and time management. Professors who knew students by name, and expected excellence, helped shape the standard she now carries into her professional life. Her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. deepened her commitment to scholarship, leadership, and community service.

“Lane was not just an institution. It was a belief,” she reflected. A belief that service is not optional, but a responsibility to strengthen the communities that we live in and serve.

Today, as a co-owner of chiropractic clinics serving the Georgia community, Dr. Porshé Minor channels that same discipline, faith, and resilience into caring for underserved and underrepresented populations. Her practice is grounded not only in clinical expertise, but in compassion and access.

For Dr. Raven Minor, Lane College was foundational in shaping both identity and vision. The environment demanded resilience, independence, and resourcefulness which are qualities that would later prove essential in entrepreneurship and healthcare leadership. She learned that success is not built on perfect circumstances, but on consistency, preparation, and forward movement.

“Clarity comes through movement, not waiting,” she shared. A principle that has guided her journey from student to healthcare provider and business owner.

Together, the Minor sisters embody the intersection of scholarship and entrepreneurship. Their clinics represents more than a business venture; it is a continuation of the values cultivated at Lane; leadership, discipline, and community uplift.

Their work also aligns with Lane College’s ongoing commitment to holistic wellness. Through its campus wellness grant initiatives focused on serving the local community, the College continues to expand access to health education and preventive care in Jackson and surrounding areas. The Minors’ dedication to community-centered healthcare reflects that same mission: ensuring that wellness resources reach those who need them most.

As Lane College advances its legacy of developing leaders prepared to serve, Dr. Porshé Minor and Dr. Raven Minor stand as living examples that an HBCU education is not a limitation, it is a launchpad.

Their story is a reminder to all current and future students: leadership begins with discipline, vision requires action, and Lane College remains a foundation upon which purpose-driven careers are built.
