Lane College is excited to announce that President, Dr. Donald Comer, will be a featured speaker at the 2025 XCEL Summit for Men, presented by Black Enterprise and taking place on October 15–17 in Orlando, FL. This three-day summit gathers influential Black men, from corporate leaders and entrepreneurs to educators and changemakers, for a transformative experience centered on leadership, innovation, mentorship, and legacy.
President Comer, a visionary leader dedicated to advancing higher education and community empowerment, will share his insights on leveraging performance reviews for successful careers. His participation reflects Lane College’s commitment to cultivating leaders who are not only academically prepared but also socially conscious and ready to make a meaningful impact.
“At Lane, we believe in lifting as we rise,” President Comer said. “This summit allows us to stand shoulder to shoulder with leaders who are shaping the future, while making sure our students are in the room to see, to learn, and to be inspired. Their growth is our greatest return, and these moments of exposure help prepare them to lead with excellence, integrity, and impact.”
As an addition to the significance of this engagement, Lane students Kevon Jordan and Rodriguez Murphy, along with intern and Class of 2025 alumnus Larry Joe Miller, will accompany President Comer to the summit. Their participation exemplifies Lane’s dedication to experiential learning, providing students with invaluable exposure to national thought leaders, professional networking opportunities, and firsthand insights into leadership and innovation. For Jordan, Murphy, and Miller, the summit will not only enrich their academic journeys but also broaden their perspectives on the roles they will play in shaping their communities and careers.
The XCEL Summit is more than just a platform for dialogue; it reflects Lane’s mission in action: preparing students for leadership and service grounded in integrity, innovation, and impact. This engagement opens doors for new partnerships, mentorships, and experiential learning opportunities that will directly benefit the Lane community.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are encouraged to follow the summit’s progress and participate in upcoming campus events inspired by this collaboration.
